Pelicans

Pelicans is a cool, comfortable villa. Cathedral ceilings with exposed rafters and roof vents, together with all-white wooden louvred jalousie windows make for excellent natural air circulation - the secret to comfortable living at 12 degrees north. Tucked into a little valley bounded by an estate track, with other similar villas in the area, the house enjoys good westerly views over Hillsborough Bay towards Sandy Island from the giant wrap around veranda. Below the house and accessed by a tree-lined track lies Tom's Bay cove with its sandy inlets and rocky outcrops. Good swimming and snorkelling just yards from home! You might be lucky to see a shy heron or two and occasional flocks of brown pelicans after which the house is named. (see location 1 on the map of Carriacou )

The house is arranged on two levels. The main floor upstairs has 2 double bedrooms inter-connecting through a large bathroom. The master bedroom has a 5' (1.5m) double bed. Second bedroom has twin beds and double doors opening onto the veranda. Bedrooms and bathrooms are fully screened. Large living room opens onto the wrap around veranda. Kitchen is part of the living area with full stove and fridge/freezer, very well equipped to cater for up to 6 persons. The self-contained apartment has an air conditioned bedroom with twin beds and ensuite bathroom and a large open plan living/kitchen area which opens up on 2 sides to a spacious covered veranda overlooking the garden and swimming pool. The 30ft swimming pool and sun deck area is completely enclosed making it ideal for families with young children.
