Lucelle Atkins greets you with a big smile in the doorway of her little general store in Main Street, Hillsborough. Behind the store where you might not expect to find it she has proudly built two of the best beach apartment rooms on the island. Away from the town noises and right on the beach, these unusually spacious apartments have wonderful west facing views over the bay and its boating activity. The ferry boats up from Grenada carrying fresh supplies of vegetables (and just about everything else you care to think of) pass close by on their way to dock at the town wharf a couple of hundred yards along the sandy beach. These are rooms for a family on a budget or a couple wanting to be on the beach yet close to the island scene.(see location 8 on the map of Carriacou )

Accommodation:
The rooms are light and airy, about 300 sq ft. Access from the street is by a courtyard and steps. Each room has two 4'6" double beds and a bathroom with hot water shower. Sea breezes via the sliding door to a small covered balcony directly overlooking the beach. Tiny kitchen with counter top cooker and fridge, fine for snacks and suppers but don't try a dinner party! Tiled floors and all white decor throughout.

• 30 seconds to the beach!
• Local tour boats to out-islands pick up from the beach.
• Linens and towels provided, but bring your own beach towels.
